Raising Funds
Successfully sourced a variety of funds totalling in excess of £100m for working capital, capital investment and growth by acquisition. Re-financed a highly geared group de-risking their exposure to banks and long term creditors.
Cash flow Improvement
Implemented weekly detailed 12 month cash flow forecasts by week to identify risk points. Negotiated longer payment terms with suppliers and HMRC. Payment in advance for high risk customers. Spread payments over time via asset finance and monthly regular payments reducing the peak requirements.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Produced detailed budgets by product, office, and region, linking BS, P&L, and cash flow, facilitating automated reporting against budget, prior year and forecasting ongoing.
Profit Improvement
Identified and removed loss making products increasing annual gross profit by £300k. Negotiated a reduction in annual Group Insurance costs of 40%.
Corporate Finance
Delivered a number of significant strategic share and asset acquisitions, mergers and joint ventures across a range of industries, including the sale of a prepared salad business.

- Successfully sourced and obtained funding, including bank loans, asset finance, invoice discounting, grants and equity loan notes, totalling in excess of £100m.
- Implemented enhanced reporting to fully automate all aspects of financial and management reporting.
- Produced weekly rolling detailed twelve month cash flow forecasts by week, enabling businesses to manage their cash and control working capital effectively.
- Delivered a significant number of Corporate Finance transactions including both share and asset acquisitions, sales, mergers and joint ventures.
- Restructured and built high performance finance and administration teams, recruiting appropriate people with the right skill sets to fill any gaps.
